Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed $5 million (or 300 million rupees) over its opening weekend in India, according to local distributors Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The studio said this is the third highest opening figure ever for a Hollywood film in India.The highest opening weekend for any Hollywood film in India was recorded by The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which collected $ 6.92 million (417 million rupees) according to Sony Pictures India. The film opened in India on May 1, ahead of its U.S.
